The Salem-Willamette Valley Chapter 292 of The Experimental Aircraft Association 180 Lincoln St. S., Salem, OR 97302 December 9, 1997
Polk County Assessor On December 5, 1997 the Willamette-Salem Chapter 292 of the Experimental Aircraft Association was granted Chapter 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service. I have enclosed a copy of determination letter number 17053098046007, a copy of our application that answers the questions outlined under ORS 307.130, a copy of our Articles of Incorporation (and a recent amendment as requested by the IRS), and our By-laws. Specifically: #1. Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws are attached #2. Provide accounting of funds and donations committed to charitable use. All funds are used for this purpose, and are enumerated on pages 8 and 9 of the application to the IRS in Form 1023. #3. Explain fee charges in relationship to the patron's ability to pay. We have only one local fee, and that is the $20 annual dues. (Members are required to also join the national organization within one year of joining our local chapter, and that fee is $35/year.) #4. Statement as to Board members pay. Board members are elected by the general membership and receive no compensation whatsoever. #5. Completed application forms describing uses of property. Completed. The application is for two parcels, one has a properly identified assessor's account number since 1989, and this is commonly referred to Hangar #7 at Independence State Airport; and the other, our new Chapter Hangar located at 4803 Airport Road, and within the Independence City limits, has yet to be identified to us with such a designation. I trust that I have made your task as easy as possible, and I am hopeful that you can beat the 260 day response time of the IRS (March 20, 1997 to December 5, 1997)! Sincerely,
John M. Pongracz
