Some of the members took a field trip to see the new Van's Aircrtaft facility. Tom Green, General Manger shows a sheet of aluminum to demonstrate the pre-punched holes. We have been purchasing aluminum sheet -- without holes -- from Vans.

It was only a rumor that the new Van's RV-7 would be a WWI fighter kit.

These are the spacers that will be between the firewall and the Diehl accessory case. They move the engine far enough forward for the rear exhaust pipes to clear.
The different length spacers cant of the engine to offset the tremendous P-factor that our 55 hp Volkswagens engine will deliver.
Final assembly of the firewall. The stainless steel is held to the plywood by a zillion little screws -- and each screw is sealed with high temp silicon.
These pieces are channel are to be engine mounts.
Testing the fit of the engine mount to the front of the longerons. The engine mount will be on the rear of the firewall.
